The Sixth Act Announces Open Auditions for Einstein's Dreams

The Sixth Act is pleased to announce auditions for its upcoming production of Jeffery Jones’ original adaptation of Alan Lightman’s novel Einstein’s Dreams on Monday, December 1, and Wednesday, December 3, from 4 to 5 p.m., location to be announced. Auditions are open to all MCC students, faculty, and staff of all ages, genders, and ethnicities.

Einstein’s Dreams imagines the relationship between Albert Einstein’s outward appearance as a brilliant young man who mathematically reconceived time and his interior self, a dreamscape where time distends and expands with surprisingly human consequences. According to Catalyst Collaborative at MIT, Einstein’s Dreams is “a journey—alternately wry and wild, funny and intellectually stimulating, provocative and surprisingly moving.”

The play will be performed Easter weekend (Thursday, April 9; Friday, April 10; and Saturday, April 11) in the Black Box Theater. A portion of the play also will be performed as part of MCC’s Scholars Day activities on Saturday, March 21, with Alan Lightman in attendance.

Auditioners will be asked to read from the script. No advance preparation is necessary. Please contact Maria Brandt at <mailto:mbrandt@monroecc.edu> by Wednesday, November 26 to schedule a ten-minute audition slot. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions….
