Alumni Fund Scholarships, New Piano for MCC Theatre

During Alumni Week and Homecoming 2009 in September, MCC alumni Timothy and Robin Wentworth demonstrated their love for MCC by announcing a gift of $125,000 to the Monroe Community College Foundation. The initial gift was to establish an endowed scholarship for current and future students.

Recently, the Wentworths increased their gift to enable the MCC Music Department to purchase a Steinway piano for the MCC Theatre.  An expression of the family’s passion for music and Robin’s appreciation for the Music Department, the piano is expected to arrive on campus before the start of the spring semester.

“When you want your investment to make a difference, we could think of no better place than right here at MCC,” said Timothy Wentworth.

Timothy Wentworth studied business at MCC and is a member of the MCC Alumni Hall of Fame. Robyn Wentworth studied music at MCC. The couple resides in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.

The endowment established by the Wentworths will fund multiple $1,000 scholarships in perpetuity. Three scholarships will be awarded to selected “Wentworth Scholars” (i.e., students studying business and/or music at MCC) during the 2009-2010 academic year. Applications will be available in the Financial Aid Office.
