HAWA is a heartfelt short narrative film about an African immigrant couple that was written, directed, and produced here in Rochester by a former MCC international student, Arzouma Kompaore. The film tells the story of an African couple struggling to find footing in a new world with new rules and influences. The film was selected to compete and be screened at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles and Atlanta (2014) and the Logan Film Festival (2014). Arzouma will facilitate discussion about the film after its 30 minute screening. Please join us and the Africa United Club for this wonderful event!
