Essay on MCC Students' Summer Learning in Israel Published in Newspaper
The Democrat and Chronicle's July 7 issue included an essay by Homeland Security Management Institute Director John Perrone chronicling his students' summer learning experience in Israel.
HSMI offered a new credit course (HSM181) this summer that allowed students in different disciplines to spend a week in Israel gaining a deeper understanding of homeland security. Israel is considered to have some of the most advanced security policies and procedures in the world. Students also experienced the host country's culture, landscape, history and mythology.
John Perrone taught the course in conjunction with Security Solutions International. Enrollment in the homeland security degree program at MCC has grown significantly since its inception in 2016.
