D’Alessandris Chairs National Two-Year College Physics Meeting


Paul D’Alessandris, Engineering Science and Physics, was the conference chair and gave the welcoming address at the National Two-Year College Physics Meeting, Past Successes and Future Directions, Saturday, July 17th at Portland State University in Portland, OR. The meeting brought together two-year college physics faculty from across the country to address the unique challenges of teaching physics in the two-year college. Interactive sessions on creating a virtual community of two-year college physics professors, the role of two-year colleges in teacher training, innovations in laboratory and distance education, and adopting and adapting Physics Education Research-based curriculum were on the agenda.
