Passing of Joan Limpert, retired publications specialist

I am sad to inform the college community that Joan P. Limpert, formerly of MCC’s Public Relations and Publications Department, passed away on August 27 at the age of 85.

There are no prior calling hours. Joan’s memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 8 in the chapel of the Sisters of Mercy Motherhouse, 1437 Blossom Road, Rochester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of Mercy, 1437 Blossom Road.

Joan began her MCC career in 1961 as a part-time clerk. In her 15-year MCC career, she worked as a Dictaphone operator, stenographer, duplicating offset machine operator, supervisor of central duplicating, and publications specialist, from which she retired in 1976. She was active in the printing industry, serving as president of the Rochester Club of Printing House Craftsmen and earning its Frank Eichorn Craftsman of the Year Award.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, Richard Limpert, and her brother, Frank Pilecki. She is survived by her daughters, Joan (Thomas) Clarke and Jean Vaughn, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her brother, Gerard (Virginia) Pilecki, and many nieces and nephews.
