26th Annual Scholarship Open Helps Students Achieve at MCC

Golfers looking for a fun and rewarding way to support the success of students are invited to play in the Monroe Community College Foundation’s 26th annual Scholarship Open. The tournament will be held on Monday, July 12, at Monroe Golf Club, 155 Golf Ave., Pittsford. Tournament proceeds support student scholarships and educational excellence at MCC.

The Scholarship Open offers a highly enjoyable pace of play, variety of tee-gifts and friendly competition. The tournament is limited to a 132-player field and begins with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. Food and beverages will be served throughout the day. Silent auction, lobster dinner, scholarship call and awards will be held immediately following the tournament.

Jack Cannon, CEO of Cannon Industries Inc., and Jeff Davis, president of Elmer W. Davis, are chairs of the tournament. Both are directors on the MCC Foundation Board.

“The Scholarship Open provides a rewarding opportunity to impact student lives in our community,” said Cannon who has served as a tournament chair for the past two years. “Last year our golfers raised a net total of $70,000 so that MCC students could focus on their studies. Our goal is to award even more scholarships this year.”

The cost to play is $600 per person; $2,400 per foursome. Please contact Renee St. Louis, associate director of development, at x1500 or mccf@monroecc.edu by Friday, June 25 with reservations.
