In case you haven’t heard, the Visual and Performing Arts Department has just acquired a brand new Steinway! The piano was made possible by a gift from MCC alumni Robin and Timothy Wentworth to the Monroe Community College Foundation.
On Monday, April 12, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in 12-126, the Writing Center in collaboration with VaPA, will host Assistant Professor of Music John Nyerges (VaPA) playing the piano while faculty and staff read poems, creating what poet, John Logan, calls “a ballet for the ear.”
Any MCC faculty or staff member is welcome to join the celebration. If you’d like to read a poem (original or otherwise), RSVP to Jean McDonough at <mailto:jmcdonough@monroecc.edu> no later than Wednesday, March 31st.
The college community is enthusiastically welcome to attend! Since seating is limited, please contact Jean McDonough if you plan to bring your class.
