Where's the Money?

Did you know that having more money doesn't necessarily mean you can get all bills paid on time? Being financially wise is about understanding how to manage the funds you have. The Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Rochester is presenting 4 workshops to help you learn more about managing your money. Workshops are offered on both campuses as outlined on the attached calendar. Workshop topics include:

Building a Strong Financial Future

This workshop helps you understand how you can create an outlook for your finances which will foster motivation and discipline, and develop specific, attainable financial goals which fit your values. In addition, you will learn the necessary tools for maintaining a simple and effective spending plan, and creating a plan for building a strong financial future!

Defeating Your Debt

It's estimated that the average American household owes almost $10,000 in credit card debt alone, representing minimum payments of almost $400 a month. Covering strategies for negotiating interest rates, negotiating settlements, and developing repayment plans, this class empowers consumers to take charge of their debt and work towards a debt-free lifestyle.

Paper or Plastic... Avoiding Debt Disaster!

In this session you will learn about the good and the bad of credit cards - rewards, interest, fees, limits and more. Find out how to use a credit card to establish your credit history, stay out of debt, and use credit the right way. You will also find out about some of the consequences of a debt disaster such as bankruptcy, judgments, and garnishments.

Protecting Your Personal Information

Identity theft is one of the most pervasive crimes in our nation. It impacts individuals from all walks of life and is typically carried out by a person that is known to the victim. Criminals are continually developing new ways of farming sensitive personal information to carry out their crimes. In this ever-changing landscape of electronic transactions and information sharing technology, it's vital that we continually learn what measures we need to take to remain safe. This class lays the groundwork for what we need to do to combat identity thieves.

All students welcome! See attached calendar for date, time and location details. Hope to see you there!
