Author Amy Tan


Author Amy Tan will be speaking on campus on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 7:00pm in the Stabins Physical Education Complex, Bldg. 10.

Born in the U.S. to immigrant parents from China, Tan rejected her mother’s expectations that she become a doctor and concert pianist; she chose to write fiction instead. Her novels, “The Joy Luck Club,” “The Bonesetter’s Daughter,” and “Saving Fish from Drowning,” are all New York Times bestsellers.
