"Making a Difference - UNHCR at Work"

The Global Interest Group at MCC is sponsoring a presentation on The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Presenter Indrika Ratwatte, a UNHCR Regional Repatriation Coordinator in Pakistan, will discuss his work with refugees and how the organization helps civilians repatriate to their homeland, integrate in countries of asylum or resettle in third countries.  Using the 1951 Geneva Refugee Convention as its major tool, the UNHCR ensures the basic human rights of vulnerable persons and that refugees will not be returned involuntarily to a country where they face persecution.

This presentation will take place on Wednesday, October 26th,12:00-12:50 pm in Building 8, Room 300, MCC Brighton Campus.
