Business Leader Michael Krupnicki ’85 Joins MCC Foundation Board


Michael A. Krupnicki ’85 was appointed to the Monroe Community College Foundation Board of Directors for a three-year term. As a director, Mr. Krupnicki will help lead the Foundation’s efforts to attract private investment in MCC, including essential scholarship funds that support student success at the college.

Mr. Krupnicki is president and owner of Mahany Welding Supply, a supplier of welding equipment, industrial gases, and related products. In 2012, he founded the Rochester Arc + Flame Center, a business devoted to training individuals in welding, metal smithing and the glass arts. Mr. Krupnicki inspires MCC students as an adjunct instructor, training partner, philanthropist, and supplier, as well as an employer of MCC graduates. He is a recipient of the New York Community College Trustees’ Business/Industry Partnership award and the Rochester Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” award. In 2014, he was inducted into the MCC Alumni Hall of Fame. Mr. Krupnicki is an active member of the American Welding Society and the Association of Independent Welding Distributors. He holds an associate degree in business administration from MCC, bachelor’s degrees in management and accounting from St. John Fisher College, and an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Having served as Foundation directors for the past 26 years, Robert E. Brennan ’70   and John T. Smith ’71 were appointed to the Foundation Council. Mr. Brennan, who chaired the Foundation’s legal affairs committee, is a partner at Trevett, Cristo, Salzer & Andolina P.C. Mr. Smith, a two-time past chair of the Foundation board and longstanding member of the Foundation’s executive committee, is chairman of Solṻ Technology Partners and CloudDOCX. Foundation Council members are past directors, officers and current benefactors whose philanthropy and leadership have helped shape the success of the MCC Foundation and MCC.

Established in 1983, the Monroe Community College Foundation seeks philanthropic investment to advance academic achievement, innovation, and the mission of excellence at the College.
