Paul D’Alessandris, Professor of Engineering Science and Physics, was recently selected to serve a three-year term as a member of the Committee on Physics in the Two-Year College, a standing committee of the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT). The committee creates and coordinates workshops, invited and contributed paper sessions, panel discussions and plenary speakers of interest to two-year college instructors at the national meetings of the AAPT. In addition to its role in organizing the national meetings of AAPT, the committee also acts as a national voice for the improvement of physics education in two-year colleges. D’Alessandris’ term begins in January 2010.
