Community Fridays for a Cause

The first “Community Fridays for a Cause” is Friday, September 20, 2013.

The MCC Foundation Scholarship Fund will be the recipient of donations raised through the September “Community Fridays for a Cause” program.

The MCC Foundation provides a means for donors, friends and volunteers to support the mission of Monroe Community College.  Through the Foundation’s Every Bright Future Needs a Strong Foundation initiative, the goal is clear: every deserving student will receive the scholarship support they need to complete their educational and career goals at Monroe Community College.  Funding of student scholarships is the primary focus of the Every Bright Future initiative.   Scholarships are a proven investment that support the Rochester region’s economic growth while helping to ensure that the area’s best and brightest can reach their potential while staying in our community.

As a result of the Every Bright Future Needs a Strong Foundation initiative, the MCC Foundation awarded 665 scholarships in 2012/2013, an increase of 35 percent over the previous year.

The MCC Foundation is also proud to be partnering with Academic Services and the MCC Association in 2013 to launch Academic Works, an online scholarship management system. The system creates a searchable scholarship database; automatically matches students with scholarship criteria; and provides a singular location to apply for all MCC scholarships.

The MCC Foundation provides opportunities for students who need support through scholarships.  Please be generous in your donations to the MCC Foundation Scholarship Fund and the Every Bright Future Needs a Strong Foundation initiative!

Don’t forget to dress casually, wear MCC colors and team up to support our MCC students!

Donations will be collected in each department.  All checks should be made out to the Monroe Community College Foundation.  Donation envelopes will be available in your department.  Please bring donation envelopes to Jodee Biller in the Controller’s Office no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, September 20th.
