STAGE Program

WDKX ran an announcement recently on STAGE and its search for new students to begin the program in February. WXXI has conducted an interview and is expected to air its story later this week.

The Skills, Training, Academics, Growth, and Employment (STAGE) Program is a college-based high school initiative that prepares high school dropouts who are 17 to 21 years old for the GED exam. The students, who are at very high risk of not completing structured educational intervention programs, attend regular structured classes on the Damon City Campus . STAGE participants receive comprehensive academic instruction in mathematics, sciences, social studies, reading and writing, and are provided support services including pre-employment training, career and occupational exploration skills, computer skills, internships and job placement opportunities, life skills, social activities, college preparation, academic advising, mentoring, and counseling.

If you know someone who could benefit from STAGE, visit https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/stage/index.htm and/or call Samson Olaode at 262-1693.
