Woodhams, DeHond Win Trophies for Tall Tales

Nancy Woodhams, CTM, CL*, Facilities, and Diane Navarro DeHond, CTM, Instructional Technologies, took home first and second place trophies respectively after competing in the MCC Toastmasters Club's 2nd annual Tall Tales Contest on Feb. 8.

Woodhams told a tale of being asked to play center for the Greece Arcadia boy's basketball team. DeHond's tale offered hope for parents who are trying to stay current with their children's use of technology and the Internet. Sharron Waide, Instructional Technologies-Damon City Campus, also competed with her tale of a family of cats with a wild vocabulary.

Woodhams will go on to represent the MCC Toastmasters Club at the Area 6 Tall Tales Contest in March.

Guests are always welcome to attend MCC Toastmasters Club meetings and observe its speakers and leaders in action. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 4:45 pm in the Brighton Room (3-127 on the Brighton Campus). The theme will be "Healthy Heart."

* CTM stands for Competent Toastmaster; CL stands for Competent Leader. Both honors are achieved through Toastmasters' communication and leadership programs.
