New Downtown Campus

In its Friday issue, the Democrat and Chronicle identified three potential sites for MCC’s new downtown campus:  the downtown Kodak parking lot on State Street, Midtown Plaza and St. Joseph’s Park. These sites are on our list but they do not constitute the whole list. We do not really have any one, true short list; the unknowns are still too significant to say that any single property is on or off the list. We are gathering more information, particularly data relating to availability, cost and timeline. When we have complete information, we will assess it and move forward to make a decision by the end of the year. Until then, no site is off the list of potential locations.

I would like to share with you the wonderful support MCC has had in this process from Monroe County and the City of Rochester. The offices of the County Executive and the Mayor have been especially valuable as we engage in our due diligence efforts, and the ongoing collaboration among MCC, the County and the City will be key to the success of this project.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or Pete Otero, executive dean of the Damon City Campus.
