IBERO and MCC “Together for the Community,” Latino Family Day


IBERO and MCC have partnered under the theme “Juntos Para la Comunidad” (“Together for the Community”) to offer Latino Family Day at the Brighton Campus of Monroe Community College.   Please save the date and make plans to attend on Monday April 9, 2012 beginning at 10am.  This is sure to be a day full of fun activities and informative workshops. 

Here is some of what we have planned:

Workshops:                                                                           

Preparing for College – getting ready for college admission and financial aid
Robotics and Engineering – by John Wadach and student engineers                       
Career Coach – this new tool offers great resources for local employment and educational opportunities
Health Professions and Imaging Science – by Anthony Joseph and student x-ray technicians
“The College Experience” college expo – will highlight programs, resources, services and co-curricular programming.

Activities:

Campus Scavenger Hunt
Capoeira demonstration – by MCC student club Capoeira Mandinga
Sports clinics hosted by MCC Men’s Basketball and Soccer teams
Caribbean Dance by Nydia Padilla-Rodriquez and Borinquen Dance
ZUMBA     

Students interested in learning more about Latino Family Day can contact project assistant Aileen Roselli at "mailto:arosselli@student.monroecc.edu".  A student volunteer meeting will be held on Wednesday February 15th at noon in room 3-115.
