Brighton Campus Construction Updates

It’s been a busy summer on the Brighton campus! On All College Day, MCC's new Wolk Center for Excellence in Nursing was dedicated.

This summer, we accomplished the phase 1 renovations of Building 9. Two new Electronics labs, a Computer Networking lab and a CAD lab have been constructed.

Several components of the project will be completed over the next several weeks. While both the roofing and the new HVAC units are at least a month ahead of schedule, it will take several more weeks to get the new HVAC units working perfectly. So if you can just bear with us a little longer, I think you’ll enjoy the results. There is air in the Building, just not the final quantities the new units will afford us. The roofing contractor will be starting the south side roof next Tuesday, but we don’t anticipate this will have any impact on instruction.

When construction for the Wolk Center was planned, the decision was made to begin re-numbering building 9. As a part of this summer’s renovations, this has been accomplished. This really was not done in an attempt to confuse our returning faculty and students, but to provide the opportunity in phase 2 of renovations to hav the building numbered in a logical order.

And while you are over in that direction, stop and see Building 9A. Upgrades to the HVAC units, carpeting, roofing and painting were accomplished.
