Remind Students: Apply for Federal Student Aid for 2011-2012

This is to remind students that if they have not already applied for federal student aid for the 2011-2012 school year (Summer '11, Fall '11 and Spring '12), they can do so by using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the Web.

To apply, go to the FAFSA on the Web site at
www.fafsa.gov, select the "Fill Out Your FAFSA" link and enter your identifying information

Students will need the Federal Student Aid PIN to sign the 2011-2012 FAFSA on the Web application. If students have forgotten their PIN, they can request a duplicate by going to
www.pin.ed.gov and selecting "Request a Duplicate PIN". Students may select one of the following delivery methods: view an online display of your PIN; receive an e-mail with your PIN; or receive your PIN by U.S. postal mail.  If they select postal mail, they will receive the PIN by mail within 7-10 days after requesting it. Remember, the PIN gives students access to their personal information on the Web and also allows them to sign student aid documents electronically. Students should never share the PIN with anyone, even if that person is helping them to complete the FAFSA, to protect the confidentiality of the application data.

In addition to federal student aid, students may also use the FAFSA to apply for aid from other sources, such as state or school.

If you have questions about your FAFSA, online help is available at www.fafsa.gov.  You can also contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243) and a customer service representative can assist you.
