Classroom Update/Reminder

First, let me take this opportunity to welcome the entire faculty back for our Fall semester. It’s been an exciting summer on the Brighton campus with the completion of the Wolk building, phase 1 renovation of Building 9, some renovation work in building 9A and we are approaching the completion of the PAC. As you read this, no matter what time of day or night, our partners in Facilities, Housekeeping, CNS and Instructional Technologies are putting the final touches on our classrooms.

Even with all this construction activity, instructional space remains tight on the Brighton Campus. Let me start by reminding you that you are probably sharing your classroom with ten or twelve other faculty members this semester. If the quantity of chairs in your room seems excessive for your section and you are inclined to push the “excess” into the hallway, please be aware of the other folks that will be teaching in that room. If you find you are short desks, or you have a student with special needs, please contact me and our partners in Facilities will endeavor to get student desks placed as soon as possible.

After the end of the third full week of classes, I’ll run a report and if we can remove any student desks from a classroom, we will.

If I can be of assistance to you, please contact me at ext. 2169 or via email at rcunningham@monroecc.edu
