"Sing, Talk and Play with Your Baby" Campaign Wins Ad Council Award

At its annual celebration luncheon on May 14, the Ad Council of Rochester awarded the 2007 Waldo Potter Award to the Early Childhood Development Initiative (ECDI) and The Verdi Group for last year's “Sing, Talk and Play with Your Baby” community-impact campaign. The print, TV and radio campaign encouraged parents and caregivers to call 292-BABY for support. 292-BABY is a community collaborative administered by Monroe Community College.

At the luncheon, MCC was recognized by both ECDI and The Verdi Group for its support of the campaign through 292-BABY. Follow-up polls showed that 70% of the targeted group saw and remembered the campaign message. Polls also showed that -- as a result of the campaign -- there was a 16% increase in the number of parents who sang, talked and played with their babies.

Ad Council President Todd Butler added that this campaign will serve as a benchmark for success for all future campaigns.
