HSMI Lunch and Learn Sessions Open to All College Staff, Faculty and Students

In honor of National Preparedness Month, MCC's Homeland Security Management Institute will share preparedness information with college faculty, staff and students.  The Institute plans on holding four separate “lunch and learn” sessions at the Public Safety Training Center from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in the STEP Conference Room. The sessions and lunch are free.  Staff and faculty can attend all four sessions or select only those they wish to attend. Sessions are limited to 25 attendees.

The four lunchtime sessions and dates are as follows:
Business Continuity Planning - Wednesday September 17, 2008
Biological Incident Response - Wednesday September 24, 2008
Cyber Security - Wednesday October 1, 2008
Community Resilience - Wednesday, October 15, 2008

National Preparedness Month (NPM) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Ready Campaign. NPM is held each September and is designed to encourage Americans to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and communities. The month will focus on important preparedness steps, including how to build an emergency supply kit, making a family emergency plan, being informed and getting involved.

For registration and further information please contact Sheila Manns at the Homeland Security Management Institute at 753-3921 or <mailto:smanns@monroecc.edu>
