Voice of the Voter Initiative Comes to MCC

WXXI and its Voice of the Voter media partners -- Democrat & Chronicle, WHAM-TV, and WDKX-FM -- are holding listening sessions with diverse groups of people in the Greater Rochester community. On Thursday, MCC will host a listening session; anyone interested in participating in a discussion of local issues is welcome to attend.

“We are asking participants to take part in moderated discussions about issues that are important to them, and to share personal stories about how those issues affect their lives,” says WXXI News Director Julie Philipp. “The input we receive during these listening sessions will be used to help inform our coverage of the elections, both in 2009 and 2010.”

The discussion will be held 9:30-10:50 a.m. in the Forum. RSVPs to <<mailto:marcom@monroecc.edu>> are appreciated.

No preparation is necessary.  WXXI will supply a brief white paper at the start of the session.  You can also review the most recent Voice of the Voter issues poll at this Web site <<https://wxxi.org/election/vov.html>> .

The listening session may be recorded in part, or in full, for audio, video and Web use.
