Geva, Hornet's Nest, US Veterans, and The Sixth Act

The Sixth Act is pleased to announce a special Hornet’s Nest at Geva Theatre Center on Monday, October 18, at 7:30 p.m. Geva describes its Hornet’s Nest events as script-in-hand performances of hot-topic plays followed by conversations with community leaders. The play this evening will be Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter, about the return home of a US soldier fighting in Iraq and her difficulties re-entering civilian life.

This event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. You may secure tickets by contacting Geva directly  ("https://www.gevatheatre.org"). Geva also has given The Sixth Act 30 tickets to distribute specifically to members of MCC’s community particularly interested in veterans affairs.

If you would like to secure tickets through The Sixth Act, please contact Professor Ann Tippett at "mailto:atippett@monroecc.edu". If you would like more information about any aspect of this event—or to request a special curriculum packet with materials related to the play, to theatre’s relationship with war, and to contemporary veterans issues—please contact Maria Brandt at "mailto:mbrandt@monroecc.edu".

Formed in 2004, The Sixth Act aims to broaden and deepen an interdisciplinary appreciation of drama at MCC and to connect MCC faculty, staff, and students with events in Rochester’s theatre community. It seeks as its leaders faculty, staff, and students drawn from a variety of academic disciplines and departments.

The Sixth Act is supported by MCC’s Creative Arts Committee and Liberal Arts Program. A special thanks to Thomas Blake, Jeffery Jones, Jim McCusker, and Ann Tippett for making this event happen.
