Save the Date: "Cognitive Scientist" Daniel Willingham to Visit MCC

The well-known cognitive scientist Daniel T. Willingham, professor of psychology at the University of Virginia, will give a lecture-workshop at MCC on June 10.

Willingham, who writes the column “Ask the Cognitive Scientist” in the American Educator, is the author of Why Don’t Students Like School? A Cognitive Scientist Answers Questions about How the Mind Works and What It Means for Your Classroom.

All faculty are invited to the June 10 workshop, which is sponsored by the Teaching & Creativity Center. It will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon. To put it on your calendar, follow this link: https://www.monroecc.edu/webdbs/MCCCal.nsf/AllEvents/F372921209DB2379852576C700629822?OpenDocument

Also, look in April for an announcement so you can formally RSVP to the event.

And if you would like to get together with other teachers this semester to talk about the book and how it applies to your classroom, watch for upcoming announcements about conversations at the TCC.
