The AAWCC MCC Chapter plans to host “I Care” walk for breast cancer awareness on Wednesday, October 14 from noon – 1 pm at the Brighton Campus and on Thursday, October 15th from noon – 1 pm at the Damon City Campus. Come help AAWCC support the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester!
Plan to wear PINK and join your friends and colleagues on the DCC 5th Floor Atrium or outside building 10 by the September 11th Remembrance Walk at the Brighton Campus for a mini-power walk to show your support for this national initiative! The walk at Brighton will be approximately 1 mile and be contained to the sidewalks around the buildings. We will take our group photograph at 12:10pm and then walk for approximately 20-30 minutes.
Water and desserts will be available.
Please note that in the case of rain signs will be posted and the walk will move to the MCC PAC Center. Timing will remain the same.
In addition to raising awareness for breast cancer, we’ll also accept monetary donations at the walks (contributions are optional). Prizes will be awarded for fundraising in the amount of $25, $50, and $100. There will also be prizes for the best dressed in pink and most fundraised! Please see attached flyer for more details.
These events are part of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) National Call to Support Breast Cancer Awareness.
