Raising Scholarship Support for MCC students is as Easy as Taking a 5K Walk/Run on Homecoming Morning!

Please join us this Saturday, Sept. 25, on the Brighton Campus for the MCC Foundation’s 4th Annual 5K Walk/Run. The event is part of Alumni Week and Homecoming 2010 sponsored in partnership with the Campus Activities Board.

President Anne M. Kress will start the race at 11:00 a.m.  MCC faculty and staff are encouraged to put together teams and support this Homecoming tradition that results in scholarships and funds for educational innovation at MCC. Student participants will be eligible to have their names included in a scholarship drawing after the race. Our goal is to have over 100 walkers, runners and/or riders participate!

The walk/run is open to the college community and general public. Tickets are $18 per person for those who pre-register and $23 for walk-ins. Registration begins at 10 a.m. at the Alumni Hospitality Tent adjacent to John L. DiMarco Field.  Parking is available in Lot G.  Prizes for men’s and women's tops finishers will be awarded.

Then stay for the Tailgate Party in the Alumni Hospitality Tent following the race.  Join President Kress, alumni, friends and students for ice-cold beverages, a delicious hot buffet lunch, DJ and music for your listening pleasure.  After lunch, cheer on the MCC Tribunes at the John L. DiMarco Field as they face rivals in men’s and women’s soccer. (The men’s team will play Massasoit Community College at 12 noon followed by the Lady Tribunes versus Bryant & Stratton at 2:00 p.m.) MCC boasts one of the top athletic programs in the country for good reason:  our coaches train national champions! Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Tickets are $8 per person

Be a part of it!  Show your MCC spirit by participating in the 4th Annual Walk/Run for Scholarships! To register contact Karen Shaw at <mailto:kshaw@monroecc.edu> or x1500.
