Call for Nominations-SUNY Faculty Council on Community Colleges


The NEG Committee of the Faculty Senate is calling for nominations for a representative (delegate) to the SUNY Faculty Council on Community Colleges (FCCC).

The FCCC is the official liaison organization between the SUNY Central Administration, the SUNY Board of Trustees and the faculty at the State University’s community colleges. The purposes of the FCCC are 1) to provide a forum for the consideration of matters of common interest to community college educators 2) to provide means for interchange of ideas among the faculties of the community colleges and between the faculties and the administration of the University 3) to provide an opportunity for the faculties of the community colleges to act in an advisory, consultative, and planning  capacity to the Chancellor of the University 4) to provide an additional channel of communication between the University administration and local governing boards of the community colleges and 5) to provide opportunity and structure for the faculties of community colleges to formulate positions on policy matters of common interest to the community colleges for transmittal to community college presidents, trustees, and sponsors.

The representative will serve a three year term. The representative is responsible for attending two FCCC conferences each year and they are expected to actively serve on one of the subcommittees.

Please submit your nominations by e-mail to Susan Murphy, Chair of the NEG Committee by Monday, April 2, 2007. Please verify the willingness of the nominee to serve prior to submitting his/her name.  Self-nominations are permitted.
