Snowflake Scholarship Fund

Thank you for supporting the Snowflake Scholarship Fund!

Since 2009, President Kress and her husband, Ned Davis, annually pledge to match employee contributions of $1 or more to the Snowflake Scholarship Fund. The campus community continued its generous support of this scholarship at the holiday party and we are most grateful. Some of you in attendance may have had the chance to meet one of this year’s Snowflake recipients – Rakym. An East High graduate, Rakym has now been accepted in various schools including Alfred University, Alfred State and St. John’s University. He chose to attend MCC at the very last minute because he wanted to be near home as he was dealing with a family crisis. Although he has faced some significant obstacles and struggled with a class or two, Rakym (and his mom who attended the holiday party with him!) are extraordinarily thankful for his experience at MCC.

This season, a total of $2,237 was raised to benefit the fund. Thanks to this support, the Snowflake Scholarship Fund will continue to provide $1,500 awards to students with financial need who maintain a 3.0 GPA and complete 15 hours of community service each semester with a non-profit agency.

Many thanks to the Kress-Davis Family and to everyone who contributed to the Snowflake Scholarship Fund -- your generosity is creating more opportunities for students to complete their studies at MCC.
