It is a dark and stormy night when you silently slip your fall grade roster out of your briefcase, finally ready to grade your students and slam the door on the fall semester. Clap of Thunder! Crack of Lightning! Cringing Horror! There are two sinister strangers lurking on your grade roster.
Can you ignore them? Can you just skip past their names and leave their grade bubble blank? Can you close your eyes and pretend that, like double booked classrooms, they don’t exist? Unfortunately, you can’t. Every student listed on the grade roster has registered and paid for the course regardless of whether they attended or not. Every student needs to be graded, probably with an “F”.
How do you avoid giving an “F” to someone you never met? Check the next Tribune issue and find out the secret. Here’s a hint: The deadline is November 24.
