Team MCC to Lead Campus Community in Annual MS Walk For a Cure

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s annual MS Walk will take place on Sunday, May 6th, 2007 from its Genesee Valley Park venue and once again, Team MCC, lead by team captain Courtney Belluccio (Campus Events) is boldly working to help this cause and has set a $10,000 goal.

Multiple Sclerosis is thought to be an autoimmune disease that unpredictably attacks the central nervous system (CNS) degenerating the myelin covering of the nerve cells impeding the brains ability to communicate with the body.  Over 400,000 Americans and over 8,000 western New Yorkers are afflicted by MS with symptoms ranging from mild numbness in the limbs to the severities of paralysis or blindness.

Despite the disease leaving many wheelchair bound, it doesn't deter them from showing up at the walk and supporting this great cause. This is our call to the MCC community; please help our team and support this cause. There are many ways in which you can lend your support, including joining Team MCC and walk along side of your colleagues and friends. Please consider joining or aiding us; below are ways you can help. Look for future Tribune announcements on Team MCC's efforts.  Thank you.
