Summer Abroad Program in Rome


The ESOL and Foreign Languages Department at MCC invites you to enjoy the summer of a lifetime and participate in a 3-week study abroad program in Rome, Italy.

This unique program will allow you to learn and/or improve your Italian, earning up to six credits, and to fully immerse yourself into Italian life. Classes will be held at the "Scuola Leonardo da Vinci," which is located in a typical aristocratic house in the center of the Old City and only a short distance from the Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona. It is conveniently located to allow students to explore this beautiful city. You will be staying with an Italian family in Rome, and you'll be able to enjoy many cultural activities during your stay.

Dates: June 3 to June 23, 2006

Cost: $2,320 includes airfare, classes in Rome, and lodging with an Italian family

Participants in this tour must register in ITA 221 (3 hrs., credit or audit, no prerequisites) in the Summer I term 2006. MCC tuition is not included in the price quoted. Price is based on double occupancy and one meal a day. Single occupancy and two meals a day are available for a supplement. Fluctuation in the exchange rate and fuel costs may cause a difference in the price quoted. Travel insurance is required. Enrollment in this program is underway. The deadline for registration is March 10, 2006.

One-hour informational meetings are planned for the following dates: Feb. 16 at 4 PM in room 6-335; March 2 at 6 PM in room 6-335; or March 8 at 12 Noon in room 6-333.
