Donors Raise $93K for Student Scholarships

Guests of the 13th annual Gold Star Gala, An Evening to Treasure presented by M&T Bank, netted $93,000 for student scholarships and educational excellence at MCC. Eleven named scholarships, including 2 two-year "Ticket to Ride" scholarships, were established at the gala, held April 30 at Oak Hill Country Club.

The “Evening to Treasure” featured a pirate theme with live music, gourmet cuisine, live auction and a diamond sweepstakes. The event marked the sixth consecutive year for M&T Bank as title underwriter. Lead sponsors included The DiMarco Group, Dixon Schwabl, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and M/E Engineering, Parrone Engineering, SWBR Architects.

Olivia and David '73 Cornell served as honorary co-chairs and donated a pair of extraordinary Memoire Diamond Bouquet earrings for the event’s diamond sweepstakes, which raised $10,000. Mary Kay ’94 and Ed Parrone chaired the event planning committee.
