Share Your Presidential Election Story

MCC Community Should Record Its Role.

Local historians are working to document Rochester and Monroe County residents' unprecedented response to the election by recording their stories in oral interviews. Students, faculty, and staff with a story to share are invited to sign up for an interview session. Interview sessions can be scheduled with Ellen Mancuso (<mailto:emancuso@monroecc.edu> or 292-2313) or at libraries throughout the county.

The presidential election of 2008 was historic for many reasons. Not only was the field of candidates the most diverse in American history, but the election came at time when the United States was fighting an unpopular war and facing the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. For these reasons and many more, MCC and Monroe County residents campaigned passionately for their favorite candidates and went to the polls in record numbers.
