Executive Dean Frater Key Planner for ACE Council of Fellows

Dr. Joel Frater recently attended the ACE Council of Fellows (COF) Program in Washington DC. He serves on the Council of Fellows Board and chaired the Professional Development Committee(PDC) that planned the event that featured presentations from prominent higher education leaders. The PDC coordinates, evaluates, and promotes continuing professional development activities of the COF (e.g., workshops at the ACE Annual Meeting), and establishes the priorities on an annual basis and communicate those priorities to the Executive Committee

The ACE Council of Fellows serves as the alumni/ae organization for the ACE Fellows Program, a national leadership development program for higher education. Its mission is to provide opportunities for continued professional development for former ACE Fellows and to promote, contribute to, and provide partial financial support for the ACE Fellows Program.

Since 1965, more than 1,800 vice presidents, deans, department chairs, faculty, and other emerging leaders have participated in the ACE Fellows Program, a customized learning experience that enables participant to immerse themselves in the culture, policies, and decision-making processes of another institution. The ACE Fellows Program helps ensure that higher education’s future leaders are ready to take on real-world challenges and serve the capacity-building needs of their institutions.
