Live Stream Today: MCC Named White House Healthy Campus!

Monroe Community College is one of 350 colleges and universities named a White House Healthy Campus for its efforts to enroll more students and young people in the federal Health Insurance Marketplace established by the Affordable Care Act. In addition to the designation, MCC has been selected to participate in Healthy Campus Day at the White House.   The event will be livestreamed from 10:30 am-noon, TODAY Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 and will be available at: <https://www.whitehouse.gov/live>

After submitting an application to participate in the White House Healthy Campus Challenge, MCC fulfilled a specific set of open enrollment outreach actions. These included:

*         Hosting application counselors on campus from Nov. 1-Dec. 15.

*         Holding four health resource fairs at Damon City Campus, Brighton Campus and the residence halls.

*         Promoting the availability of application counselors and building awareness of the enrollment deadline via posters, social media, employee/student e-newsletter and direct email messages.

Thank you to Health Services, Student Life and Leadership Development, Pathways to Success, Student Government Association (SGA), Student Nurses, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) and the City of Rochester who joined together with the Wellness Council to complete the White House Healthy Campus Challenge!

Congratulations to Jeanne Flanagan, RN, Health Services and Leon Rice, Student Government Association Senator, Health and Wellness who were selected by the Wellness Council to join Dr. Kress in DC today to represent MCC and participate in the celebration!
