Old Timers Advanced to Semi-Finals in Intramural Basketball League

Despite a rocky start, the Old Timers (a group of faculty, administrators and staff) ended the intramural basketball regular season with a 5-3 record. (Mid-season acquisition Marlin Johnson was a significant addition to the team!) We were seeded 5th (out of 8) for the playoffs. We won the quarterfinals game (against the 4th seed) then lost in the semi-finals (a very close game against the first seed).  They went on to win the playoffs.

I think it was good for both the Old Timers (finding out that we can still run with the kids) and the students (seeing that they might still be able to play in 20-40 years.) We are already talking about next season (but we are looking into a handicap of 1 point for each brace we wear…we would have been undefeated...)

The team included: Terry Keys, captain, Jim Coffey, Jerry Burns, Mike Ruff, Marlin Johnson, Chet Rogalski, Bob Lasch, Chris Biehler, Frank Guary, Fred McCullough, Tom Pollizzi, and Pete Genovese.

Thanks to our fans for cheering us on and the students for the great competition!
