Greentopia Festival: Volunteer Opportunities


Presented by MCC, the Greentopia Festival is the first festival in the Rochester and Finger Lakes area to focus on sustainability and “green” living. The festival will take place this weekend, September 17 and 18, at High Falls. Organizers are expecting 20,000 people to attend.

Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the weekend. Please contact Jenna Manetta-Knauf <mailto:jenna8989@yahoo.com> with any questions and/or to volunteer for one or more of the shifts and roles listed below:

Volunteer Shifts:
Saturday, September 17, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Saturday, September 17, 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM
Sunday, September 18, 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM
Sunday, September 18, 3:00PM to 7:00 PM

Volunteer Roles::
* Recycling Rangers: Educating festival goers at the recycling stations on how and why to compost/recycle or trash their unwanted items

*Festival Guides: Helping people navigate the different areas of the festival and sharing festival information like when and where the speaker series are, how to get to the wine garden, what time the green films start, etc.

*Floaters: Bring water to other volunteers, help relieve volunteers or committee members to eat/take a break

*Merchandise Salesperson: Help to sell our products at a merchandise booth

Parking will be available at the Kodak Lot or "C" lot located off State Street between High Falls and Frontier Field or in the parking garage on State Street. (There may be a fee to park in the garage.) Volunteers are asked to report 15 minutes prior to their shift and wear comfortable clothes. Volunteers will receive a Greentopia Festival T-shirt when they report for their first shift.
