Strategic Planning Update

Since January, the Strategic Planning Team has met on a weekly basis.  The initial meetings acquainted the team with the planning process and served as an opportunity for the team to solidify.

Currently the team is nearing the end of Stage I in the process, the Strategic Thinking phase.  This stage consisted of an analysis of the MCC culture, environmental scanning, a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis, the development of assumptions, and a review of the College’s mission.  This was accomplished through presentations by senior leadership; interviews with faculty, community, and senior leadership; a literature review; research; and input from the Middle States Self-Study and Mission Review.

The assumptions will serve as the foundation for developing the strategic directions and goals. Information regarding the process and findings will be shared with the Board of Trustees at their retreat in May.
