Community Fridays for a Cause - April

The next “Community Fridays for a Cause” is Friday, April 6th.  This will be the last Community Fridays for this academic year.

CURE Childhood Cancer Association will be the recipient of donations made through the “Community Fridays for a Cause” program this Friday.

CURE Childhood Cancer Association is a nationally recognized innovator in peer to peer support for families with children diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders. For over 35 years, CURE has been the forerunner in developing the concept of parent advocacy, long-term educational assistance and peer-to-peer support. CURE encourages and assists children, young adults and their families in Rochester and the surrounding region to realistically face diagnosis and treatment, to cope with their fears and believe in the possibility of life after cancer.

Beyond medical treatment, CURE provides emotional, educational and financial assistance to families whose lives are transformed by a diagnosis of childhood cancer. World-class medical care is available in the Rochester area, but patients and families need more than medical care to cope with chronic, life-threatening, and terminal childhood diseases. CURE is there to help and meet the very specific needs of families who are caring for a chronically ill child.

This Friday, April 6th dress in MCC gear and show your support for our college community and the CURE Childhood Cancer Association. Please give generously through the “Community Fridays for a Cause” program.

Donations will be collected in each department.  All checks should be made out to the CURE Childhood Cancer Association. Donation envelopes have been returned to your departments to be used again on April 6th.  Please bring donation envelopes to Jodee Biller in the Controller’s Office no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, April 6, 2012.
