Brenda Embrey, MPA, RHIA, CHP (Health Professions) and MCC student Kimberly White participated in the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) 2010 Hill Day at the Capitol in Washington, D.C. on March 23. As a member of AHIMA, Embrey helped to advocate for increased recognition of the essential role health information professionals play in establishing clinically and administratively useful, yet secure electronic health records systems. Participants also advocated for training funds for allied health professionals with regard to the use of computerized health records. This is the third time Embrey and her students have participated in Hill Day.
