GeoFest Returns to MCC

For the third straight year the New York Geographic Alliance and the Chemistry/Geosciences Department will be celebrating geography with “GeoFest 2012 – Connections are Important.” It will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday October 20th. There will be a welcoming ceremony and a continental breakfast in the Atrium (Bldg. 3), to be followed by three workshop sessions on a variety of geographic topics (in Building 11). MCC students and staff are welcome to register for free. We will be joined by teachers and pre-teachers from all over the state.

After the morning workshops, participants are invited to take a cruise on the Sam Patch on the Erie Canal. For a small fee, you get a cruise with “Professor” Amos Eaton (a 19th Century naturalist) and a nice lunch. Early registration is advised, since there are only 35 seats on the boat.

See the attached pdf flyer for more information. Registration is available online from https://www.nygeographicalliance.org or you can contact Tim McDonnell at x2398.
