Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Awards $1,000 Scholarship to MCC Student


Donna Marie Johnson, a student at Monroe Community College, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship for her academic performance and record of community service by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.

Johnson, of Brighton, enrolled at MCC in Fall 2000.  She served as president of MCC’s Alpha Theta Iota chapter of Phi Theta Kappa from 2002 to 2003, and currently serves as regional president for Phi Theta Kappa. She received her A.A.S. in Computer Information Systems in May 2003 and is pursuing a second MCC degree, an A.S. in Liberal Arts, general studies.

Johnson continues to be active in her community and is dedicated to her position as a peer mentor at the Brighton Campus.

Through the Coca-Cola Scholars program, more than $23 million has been awarded to students in the last 15 years. All recipients must have performed 100 hours of community service within the past 12 months.
