Hospitality Group's Experience in Bahamas Spotlighted in National Magazine

The May issue of Chef Educator Today features Chef-Instructor Gerry Brinkman and four of his students on its magazine cover in addition to an interview with Brinkman about a fieldwork course he helped lead in the Bahamas.

In the article, Brinkman discussed teaching eco-tourism and food service on the island during intersession in January. He talked about the rewards and challenges of this unique two-week experience involving 11 students in MCC’s hospitality program. Assistant Professor Michelle Bartell also led the course.

Jeremy Case, of Instructional Technologies, did the cover shoot. A photo taken by an MCC student, Ron Gaudelli, accompanied the story.

Chef Educator Today, the official publication of the Foodservice Educators Network International, serves culinary and baking/pastry instructors at more than 600 postsecondary programs and thousands of high school foodservice-training programs throughout the United States and worldwide.
