BIO 253 to Costa Rica

I am very pleased to announce a new course offering, BIOLOGY 253, a travel course to explore the flora and fauna of Costa Rica.  Costa Rica is the model for eco-tourism for the entire world and has a system of natural parks that are the envy of us all.  The course is for 3 credit hours and will visit four of Costa Rica's gems - Monteverde Cloud Forest; Tortuguero National (Marine) Park; Corcovado National Park; and Savegre Mountain Lodge located in San Gerardo de Dota, where we expect to see the Resplendant Quetzal.  Click the following link for more information on Costa Rica's national parks.

The course will run JANUARY 3 - 17 2011.  The cost will include everything!  International airfare from Rochester, all in-country transportation, lodging, meals, guide services, park admission fees - all you need is money for souvenirs!  The cost is projected at $5075.

Take a look at the attached poster and please attend the informational meeting scheduled for Monday, May 17 at noon or 7 pm where all your questions will be answered.  Feel free to e-mail me as well.

Don't hesitate to mention this super opportunity to your students.  Some students MAY be eligible for aid.
