Bob King, Ph.D., Agriculture and Life Sciences Institute, commented on farming trends in the August 30 Democrat and Chronicle article, entitled “Farm stories come to life in RIT project,” by Jim Goodman. The article highlights RIT’s current project to make the history of family farms more visible to the public. RIT is a partner of the Agriculture and Life Sciences Institute.
According to King, as quoted in the article, Monroe County is now losing about 700 acres of farmland a year.
