On Wednesday, March 17, 36 brave travelers ventured into the fundraising jungle and attended a seminar designed to help navigate the jungle of private and public fundraising. The travel group was made up of faculty, staff, administrators and adjuncts; safari guides for the trip included Brenda Babitz, president, MCC Foundation, Kathy Bolton, director, Grants Office and Diane Shoger, director of development and major gifts, MCC Foundation. Vice President Glocker welcomed the group of adventurists to the seminar which was held in the Warshof Conference Center during college hour.
As part of the safari, each attendee received a Survival Manual with everything from a user’s guide to the Foundation and the Grants Office to a primer on working with fundraising professionals, collaborative proposal development to contact information.
Look for additional trips to focus on specific grant funding opportunities and interactive sessions to help identify fundable projects.
