Yom HaShoah Commemoration: Thursday, April 24

MCC's 24th annual Yom HaShoah Commemoration will be held on Thursday, April 24 in the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center. The commemoration will begin with an opening ceremony at 9:30 am in the atrium, followed by a candle lighting, reading of the names, photographic essay display, and local Holocaust Survivor testimonies. This day-long event is hosted by the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Project.
Yom HaShoah is also known as Holocaust Remembrance Day. "Shoah," which means catastrophe or utter destruction in Hebrew, refers to the atrocities that were committed against the Jewish people during World War II. This is a memorial day for those who died in the Shoah.
