The PRISM Multicultural Center is proud to present "Celebrating Black History Month"

Please join us in the PRISM Multicultural Center (Building 1-108) as we celebrate Black History Month with a film series that will inspire and generate critical thinking and conversation.  Faculty, please encourage your students to attend these films and join in the conversation we will facilitate afterward.  Faculty and staff are also welcome!

This film documents the stereotypes regarding those who consider themselves black in America.  What is black?  Who is black?  Who determines who is black or who is not?  This documentary narrated by Soledad O’Brien, CNN news commentator and producer.

The film explores how two groups bonded together (Africans and Native people), what drove them apart, and what challenges that they face today.

This film explores the evolution of the African-American people as well as the multiplicity of cultural institutions, political strategies and religious and social perspectives they developed, forgoing their own history and culture against unimaginable odds.
